Understanding The Different Types Of Saxophone Courses
Are you interested in playing the saxophone? Do you want to learn how to play the instrument but hesitant because you do not have any background at all? Really, this should not be a concern at all. You can still catch up and know more about saxophone playing. You can join a small group of sax students if you are not inclined to enrol in a music school. You can go from having no background at all to a certified pro. You will only need your own saxophone piece to practice the theories you will be learning.
The good thing is, saxophone courses range from basic lessons to mastering lessons. This will give you the freedom to learn every single step towards becoming a professional saxophone player. Here is the list of saxophone courses schools usually have:
- Pre-beginner –This course is for those who absolutely have no background with regards to the saxophone. No background means no knowledge and no experience. The course takes six to ten months to finish.
- Beginner saxophone course – Those who have a little background can try this course. People who have started with the basics of saxophone, or who have at least tried playing it in the past will benefit from this course. Since this course is for students who still have very little knowledge of saxophone, the duration of the course is a little bit longer.
- Pre-Intermediate – This course is especially designed for students who have at least a year or two of experience playing the saxophone. The pre-intermediate course will give a more in-depth background and more comprehensive basic lessons and techniques of playing. This should take about six to eighteen months to finish.
- Intermediate saxophone course – On the other hand, those who have played the saxophone for at least three years can now take the intermediate level. More or less, these students already have a wide background and knowledge in playing the sax. This course will teach them even more advanced techniques.
- Pre-advanced – Almost going to the advanced level, this saxophone course is for those who have been playing for around five years. This course is on the way towards the professional level.
- Advanced – Students who have been playing for six years and still want to further improve their knowledge and skills can take this saxophone course.
- Masters - This course is for professional sax players who want more excellence in their art. This should make them one of the best, if not the best, in their chosen type of instrument. Mastering the saxophone through this saxophone course for six to eighteen months would certainly be enough.
These are the complete set of saxophone courses. If you go through all of them, then you will certainly make yourself the creme of the crop of sax players. You have the option to plan what level of expertise you want to reach. Just make sure you see the courses through to the end so that you gain the knowledge that you really need. Once you have finished all these courses, you will then have acquired the skills, education and experience to be able to do concerts, bar or lounge playing or any live production numbers. Find out which saxophone school provides the best saxophone education and consider signing up for a class. Success comes with practice, so better be trained by a professional instructor.
