Is there a difference (in feel) between the BG Saxophone harness and the Neotech harness?
Ok, I am looking at getting a harness for my Baritone Saxophone and the only one that shows up at my music store is the BG one (without padding). I am worried to buy, because I dont want the nonpadded on to hurt my back. I am wondering if I should buy the BG one or order the Neotech one.
Also, I was hoping that the people who answer this question, were people that have one or the other. Thanks.
I used a neotech padded harness but it was too big for me( didn't adjust small enough so I had to change it so that I could use it when i marched the rose parade). A neckstrap was always more comfortable for me however, even marching field shows. I weighed about 120lbs and was 5'5 when I marched Bari for 5 years between high school and college. Most people I know that play Bari use a neckstrap and say the harness is akward for them to use , myself included. You are a lot more limited as to how your position is for your Bari as well. Yes a neckstrap strains your neck but the harness strains your upper back and shoulders which causes more pain in the end. I used the padded neotech neckstrap and it worked great for me. Only thing that ever lasted all the cheap neckstraps broke.
