How much do you think a Tenor Saxophone of this type should go for?
I have a Selmer Paris super action II Tenor saxophone that I bought in middle school, in about 1998. I am selling it on Ebay, I have used it for marching band. It plays fine and has two tiny dents in it(not very noticeable) near the base of it and the laquer is not perfect but not extraordinary. We bought it for about $4000 i think and I have listed it for $2000. I am just wondering, in your opinion, is this a fair price for an instrument that plays well and is very usable for a proffessional musician? Do Saxophones go up in value or lose value? I thought when I bought it the guy said they increase so I just wann amake sure im starting the auction at a decent price or if its way to high.
As you know, brass instruments are of high cost due to the labor and materials put into the instrument. Being that it has minor dents in it, and it is in good condition, I would sell it for around 2500-3000 dollars, possibly. You could even try looking up other prices for the same instrument but used, through a site such as Google.
