Looking for a good saxophone.?

I've been playing flute with my schools for five years and just this year I decided to pick up alto saxophone too. I joined my school's jazz band and I have two more years of it so I'm hopeful about me getting good. If I do like it and get good at it enough that I don't want to give it up, I was wondering what a good choice would be. I started with a Jupiter, but it died on me and my teacher gave me a Yamaha. But the Jupiter was really old and gross, so it might not necessarily reflect the quality of the brand. I definitely want a used student model because I'll be playing it quite casually, as flute is my main love. Any suggestions?

Craigslist or Kijiji free classifieds. A better source, however, would be the music store(s) that rent the band instruments to the students, especially one with its own service personnel. They will sell you only an instrument that's in good working condition.
