What are the pro's and con's to this new Tenor sax?
ok so i found this tenor saxophone called the jupiter 889sg artist ive heard of jupiter as a name brand for saxophne but id like to know what some positive and negative things to it are. for those wondering im using it for jazz and ik tht it is an intermidiate sax so ik it isnt built cheap but it is a good priced saxophone help is needed thank you
Jupiters play pretty well intune but fall apart. You'll notice the design is very yamaha-like, They are soft horns. I'm not a fan, though I certainly haven't given them much time.
I play all VIs, but I have a Yamaha YAS 52 intermediate alto, and a Yamaha YTS 62 "pro" tenor, and I use both horns for things like outdoor jobs in questionable weather and the like, where I don't want to chance it with my Selmers. The Yamahas are decent horns for the money (though pretty soft as well) and I usually direct my advancing students towards yamaha for an intermediate horn.
