Home studio recording questions?
Hey guys im an 18 year old musician i play tenor saxophone and will be a future music major, i have been wanting to record some of my own music. I also play guitar, bass, and piano.
I have found a program called cakewalk music creator 5 + Studio instruments for a great price !! ($64.99)

I also need a microphone to record with, i dont have one. Could someone direct me towards a cheap mic i could record with that would be good for this program?

I have a Cakewalk Home Studio (different version from what you have, though), and I LOVE it!.
I got a small microphone with a USB plug from Radio Shack. It was inexpensive, and I am very glad to have it, but it definitely does NOT do the trick for professional-sounding recordings. It is adequate for my uses, but my purposes were quite different from yours.
Since you will be a music major, you really do need to go ahead and invest in a decent mike. You don't want your hard work on arrangements and performances to be ruined because of having a cheap microphone. Think of it honestly as an investment. You will be using it for a long time, so the cost spread out over time is not so bad. And the increased value will more than justify the extra expense.
