Buy or rent a saxophone for my son?

My son is in the 4th grade and he picked up Saxophone as an instrument for his music and art classes. We started looking at prices and found out that even the rentals are relatively expensive. We are looking for a reasonable music and arts place that we can either purchase or rent from in the Hartford CT area. Also, your advice is appreciated on whether to rent or buy and which brand to use.

If you want good advice. Go on ebay and get one from there for a fraction of the price. Purchse it with a credit card to protect your investment or through paypal.

That is what I would suggest. When you rent for 6 months, that could amount to $300. Might as well buy one at $200 and keep it is yours. You can always resell it later and get some money back.

Having said all this, their is Rayburn Music in hartford where you can rent very very cheap. That may be a good route if the pricing is for real. Here is their website
