Is the
Selmer Paris Super Action 80 Series II Model 52B Professional Alto Sax
only more expensive than the
Selmer Paris Super Action 80 Series II Model 52NG Professional Alto Sax
because it is black, and engraved, or is it actually the better sax?
These two saxes are identical in their body construction, so they shouldn't sound any different. If the black one was nickel plated instead of black lacquer, the warmth of the tone might change slightly, but that's not the case with different lacquer colors. Anyway, the black model is more expensive because of looks. If you want to stand out, go for black. If you don't want to spend money that you don't need to (or whatever your opinion is), i'd go for the regular model. Hope this helps!
