Are Suzuki Alto saxophones any good?
They look OK and are cheap;
but does the price reflect the quality or are they a good buy?
Unless you have money to throw away, don't ever buy a saxophone you can't try first. There are tons of companies out there making saxophones, and most don't make quality. Consider that Suzuki has been making saxophones for less than 5 years, are part of a program intended mostly for string players, and are probably being made by general labor in a Chinese factory as compared to other manufacturers who have skilled labor in each position who know what they are doing. If you can try the saxophone out and find you like it, go for it.
