What LIGHT instrument should I switch to?
OK I played alto sax. I then switch to tenor sax. I love the instrument, but it is waaay to big and heavy to lug around. I don't want to practice because I simply hate bring it places. My ideas were 1) Switch to a lighter instrument. 2) Look for a case on wheels for my saxophone. 3) Purchase two saxophones, one for home and one for school. What do you think???
I think you should switch instruments, because a case will also be heavy, and two saxophones may be expensive. I would recommend the clarinet, for several reasons: 1. It is light and can fit into a backpack. 2. It is very convenient and portable. 3. The notes and fingerings are similar to the saxophone, so it will be easy to make the switch. However, if you are truly devoted to an instrument, you should stick with it, and I'm sure there are other options. I hope this helps!
