How do you clean an instrument swab?
I have an alto saxophone, and its swab is green and smells strange. How can i clean it?
The good news is that it is easy to clean. The better news it that it actually gets better with washing. You can use any kind of laundry soap you wish and wash it by hand in a sink of warm water. Do NOT use any kind of fabric softener (since that reduces it ability to absorb water). Allow it to air dry. If it is a little bit stiff after it dries, rub it around in your fingers to fluff and soften it again. It will be better than new!
