Spit on the cork of the neck of my tenor saxophone?
Hey, i just started playing tenor sax today and i love it! but the problem is, i don't want to ruin the instrument, especially since im renting it, and when i'm playing, theres spit all over the cork on the neck of my sax... (where the mouthpiece connects)... i've tried putting cork grease on it, and that doesn't help, so i've been wiping it off...
I'd like help from someone who knows what i'm talking about, who's had this problem before, or dealt with this problem before. i don't want any guesses because this is a $1500.00 piece of equipment, and i don't have that kind of money.

I agree, I've played tenor sax for four years and if you don't put corn grease on the cork frequently, the cork may break or crumble. The spit just happens naturally, so just wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. That should fix your problem. Good luck!
