Which size of metal Mouthpiece for YANAGISAWA Soprano Saxophone shouldI get?
I have played clarinet for 20+ years and played alto saxophone for a while. I used S80 mouth piece and it worked well. I am not great player but, not a beginner either.
I have never played a soprano before and I just bought a Yamaha YSS-475. Now whcih mouth piece should I get? I ordered the mouth piece already and the seller asks me if I want #5 facing or #7 facing. Please share your ideas.
A shorter facing will give your sax better response time, making it easier to play sharp articulations and giving you more control over your attack. Generally speaking a short facing is desirable (but there are special cases that it is not). A #5 Yani soprano facing is shorter than a #7, so you probably want to get the #5.
